Sometimes garments are so functional and useful that they surpass their original usage and go on to become iconic clothing in their own right outside of their original use. Denim Jeans, Running Shoes, Hiking Jackets all designed for a specific use but adopted through generations for simply just working. The ECWCS Coat is one such item and this is CMF's take on the iconic US Military Coat. Part of the Extended Cold Weather Clothing System developed by the US Military the ECWCS Coat is a functional outer layer designed to be worn over multiple layers for cold weather protections. This version from CMF uses some of their lightweight water repellent crinkle nylon in a version that has been refined by Makoto and his team. It retains the full length double zip, functional and adjustable hood, cuffs and hem whilst pockets are hidden under angular flaps for added weather protection. A longer style featuring a shorter fishtail this is a great coat for when the weather closes in with plenty of room for layering, internal carry straps and subtle CMF branding rounding off the style.
